Founded in 2022 by architect Yi Wang, Atelier ChiOh is a Shanghai design studio creating adaptive solutions for evolving urban environments. We focus on four core design elements: site context, light interaction, spatial atmosphere, and material textures - blending these to craft spaces that engage both the senses and lived experience.
The studio embraces an adaptive design approach, acknowledging the complexities and constraints of modern architecture while remaining open to continuous evolution.
Our experimental approach embraces gradual refinement, developing timeless spatial qualities that adapt to changing surroundings.
Yi Wang holds two architecture degrees from Tongji University (B.Arch 2015, M.Arch 2018) and now is serving as a Visiting Design Tutor in Fall 2024. His professional background includes
leadership roles at Atelier Deshaus in Shanghai, where he focused on urban regeneration
,followed by
significant experience at Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) in Copenhagen, working on international cultural projects. This diverse background informs his current research on the intersection of architecture, time, and the high-density urban environments of today.
起屋设计工作室是一家位于上海的建筑事务所，成立于2022年。我们习惯在不断改变的现实环境中做出符合直觉的即时反馈。
我们关注空间设计的基本问题：场地，光线，氛围，材料，建造等，并擅长以此为叙事基础进行身体感知与体验的设计。
同时，我们也意识到并承认建筑与空间设计在当代社会中的局限性与时效性，因此，起屋的实践始终愿意秉持开放性而接纳改变，我们乐于通过每次改变的过程，寻找更为持久性的事物本质。
王轶毕业于同济大学建筑系，获得建筑学学士、硕士学位。他曾在丹麦哥本哈根BIG建筑事务所、上海大舍建筑事务所担任建筑师职位，并于2024年秋开始在同济大学建筑与城市规划学院担任特聘设计导师职位。
